Hope for Justice

Judge Lapthorn is a judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia Division 2 and has been on the bench for 20 years.  Prior to his judicial career he was a barrister in private practice in Sydney and Brisbane specialising in family law and child protection matters.  His Honour also has experience in criminal and regulatory prosecutions.  He is currently studying Theology and is a formation student for the Brisbane Diocese.

In this presentation participants will hear of Judge Kevin’s journey through change in the legal system over 45 years, 20 of these as a judge. He is aware of the challenges faced by (and in) our justice system and remains hopeful for the future. He will identify glimmers of hope in this system and will identify achievable steps ordinary people can take to help them grow brighter.
